MacEwan University selects Talis Aspire Resource List Management Solution (RLMS) to streamline library workflows and increase faculty engagement

MacEwan University has selected Talis Aspire as their Resource List Management Solution, as they seek to widen their teaching and learning initiatives. Resource lists in Talis Aspire will strengthen their faculty and library relationships and streamline library workflows. It will further provide them with deeper insight into how students are using and engaging with resources, so the library can deliver an improved student experience.

While lists were previously housed in Atlas Ares, MacEwan University will leverage Talis Aspire’s more intuitive access to course materials for students, while faculty and library staff will be able to integrate the library’s holdings into course design and structure within their Learning Management System. With a new perspective on material usage in courses across campus, the library will be able to streamline workflows and create efficiencies around collection development and content purchasing.

Micheal Brundin, Digital Initiatives Librarian at MacEwan University, said: ”We are under increasing pressure to be more accountable and to provide first-rate digital teaching and learning solutions, and Talis Aspire is a great fit. It’s cloud-based and platform-neutral, which was important to us. It will enable us to automate our processes and garner a deeper insight into resource use and management. We aim to provide a better experience for students, with the ability to engage more with resources and to work more closely with faculty, which Talis Aspire will enable.”

As a platform-neutral solution, Talis Aspire integrates into existing library and institution ecosystems, bridging the Learning Management System (LMS) and Library Services Platform (LSP) while enhancing library access & visibility. At MacEwan University, Talis Aspire will integrate with their LSP, SirsiDynix Symphony, and their LMS, Moodle.

The MacEwan University team is already working closely with the Talis Services team to be ready to launch for fall semester 2021.

Talis CEO Alison Spencer said, “We’re thrilled that MacEwan University is joining the Talis Aspire community in Canada. We look forward to seeing them flourish as part of the growing Talis Aspire global community, and meet their strategic objectives within the library and wider institution. The Talis Services Team and Consulting Team will be working with them throughout their implementation process, managing their specific institutional and regional needs.”
