The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) in Cirencester, Gloucestershire has selected Talis Aspire to manage and deliver its online reading lists service.

The Talis Aspire online reading lists service provides a direct link to resources, to ensure a seamless experience for students. Talis Aspire will be integrated with the RAU’s Library Management System, Heritage from ISOxford.

The University aims to enhance the student experience with improved access to resources. They plan to integrate reading lists with their Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Moodle through the Talis Aspire Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) tool.

“The Royal Agricultural University was keen to have a more technical and bespoke solution to managing the complexities of reading and resource lists,” says Peter Brooks, Head of Library Services at the RAU, “and having attended the Talis Insight Conference in 2017 and sought the opinions of existing customers, we decided to have an on-campus demonstration of Talis Aspire.  A mix of academic and professional support staff attended and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.  We know that our reading and resource lists have the potential to be much more engaging and dynamic, and we are now looking forward to offering the benefits to our students, as well as to our academics and librarians.”

“We are delighted to welcome the Royal Agricultural University, joining us as our 80th customer in Europe and 94th worldwide.  Their commitment to the student community has been recognised in the recent The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide league table, and we are looking forward to supporting their continued success in this area.” said David Errington, CEO of Talis.

The Royal Agricultural University has been at the forefront of agricultural and land-based education and research since 1845. Offering a portfolio of more than 30 undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses, the RAU prepares its students for exciting and challenging careers in agriculture, agricultural technology, food production, business, equine science, environment and conservation, real estate, and land management. Our students benefit from excellent employment prospects. On average over the past five years, 95% of graduates enter employment within six months of graduating.
