Academic Engagement at Talis Insight Asia-Pacific 2017
At Talis Insight Asia-Pacific 2017, we heard from our customers on a range of topics. Academic adoption is always a key theme, as we love to hear stories of how our customers have engaged academics at their institution, particularly at events such as Talis Insight where we encourage our users to share best practice and ideas with the user group.
Sharing their presentation: ‘Reading lists: academic adoption at Griffith’ was Susan Tegg, Team Leader, Library Technology Services and Karen Walsh, Librarian, both from Griffith University. We also heard from Caroline Ondracek, Senior Coordinator, Curricular Services (library) at La Trobe University. Her presentation, ‘Linking subject coordinators with Reading Lists @ La Trobe’ explored the timeline of Talis Aspire at La Trobe University, from their approach and strategic directions to how they engaged academics through the subject coordinators and the results they have seen.
We were delighted to also have an academic’s perspective at Talis Insight Asia-Pacific 2017. Simon Bedford, Senior Lecturer at the University of Wollongong presented his talk on ‘Finding your way through the mist: Analytics in Learning and Teaching’, where Simon explored how they have approach analytics at the University of Wollongong and how the results might improve course quality.
