Reading List of the Week – Assessing Clinical Performance, The University of Auckland

Reading list of the week

Our Reading List of the Week is Assessing Clinical Performance from the University of Auckland from academic Marcus Henning.

The items on this list are broken down into sections by module, this helps students locate items by topic as labelled in the section title, for example ‘Module 4 – Choosing assessment methods’.

In addition to the straightforward layout, the academic has made the list even easier to navigate by adding importance labels to each item. This helps the student to prioritise their reading tasks by identifying an item as ‘textbook’, ‘Essential resources’ or ‘Further resources’, helping them understand what is general reading for the course, what must be read and what is optional.

One of the most useful parts of this list is the section at the bottom which gives additional information on the course for distance learners or students on a flexible schedule, as well as advice and links to learning and study resources such a guide to referencing. Adding this information in the same place as the course specific resources is a great idea and will help students with their reading and studying tasks.
