Queensland University of Technology selects Talis Aspire to boost efficiency of library acquisition and copyright compliance

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) have selected Talis Aspire to manage and deliver their online reading lists and copyright-cleared content services.

The online reading lists system was rolled out to academics for training in May, and will be rolling out to students in July at the start of the second semester. Students will benefit from seamless access to their reading lists directly from BlackBoard, their Learning Management System, through the Talis Aspire Learning Technology Interoperability (LTI) integration.

Talis Aspire will enable QUT to easily connect reading lists with content from the university repository, Summon and library subscribed databases. Access is achieved via the AAF shibboleth authentication method. It will also enable more efficient copyright compliance and reporting as required by licence from Copyright Agency Limited (CAL).

Talis help universities in eight countries, including over 60% of all UK universities, to manage and deliver learning resources online. The cloud based SaaS system hosts nearly 500,000 reading lists, with over 20 million references, serving in excess of 176 million views of reading lists by students each year.
