Our Reading List of the Week is Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union from Dr Zoe Knox, Associate Professor of Modern Russian History at the University of Leicester. This list contains a lot of useful notation and is split up by teaching session.
The list starts with a ‘recommended reading’ section and is later split up into weekly sections. This helps guide the student through the term, directing them to what is relevant each week. This helps them prepare for each lecture or seminar, as well as go back and locate particular items during study period.
Throughout the list, Dr Zoe Knox has added notes to add context to the items and explain why they might be useful, but also to help prepare students for upcoming seminars. Providing this information makes the class time more effective and guides the student’s reading tasks.
The list was created about a year ago and has had 2355 page views and 1353 item clicks for an estimated 60 students.
