The University of Alberta has adopted Talis Aspire, becoming the first university in Canada to do so, officially marking the availability of Talis Aspire in Canada. They have chosen to implement Talis Aspire with student experience in mind, to improve access to resources. Regent’s University London has selected Talis Aspire to manage the university’s reading lists. After winning an award for Customer Service Excellence in 2017, the university was keen to maintain focus on student experience, ensuring the smoothest possible process for students when accessing resources. Ravensbourne University have selected Talis Aspire to manage both reading lists and copyright management. Having been awarded university status earlier this year, Ravensbourne University were keen to establish clear library workflows from early on and improve engagement with academics across the university. In doing so, they aim to improve wider student experience through access to resources.

Following a tender process, the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) have selected Talis Aspire to manage their online reading lists. As UHI is comprised of 13 independent colleges and research institutions, the need for a reliable online delivery of resources is key to students and academics.

Talis becomes a SAGE publishing company

Talis has been acquired by SAGE Publishing, a leading independent, academic and professional publisher founded in 1965. SAGE Publishing will provide Talis with the opportunity to grow and expand into new markets whilst maintaining their existing relationships with customers and partners. Talis will continue to be run as a separate business by its existing management as a SAGE publishing company from its offices in Birmingham UK.

The University of Oxford, ranked number one in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018, have selected Talis Aspire to manage and deliver its online reading lists service and copyright management system. They join Talis as the 100th customer worldwide.

London Metropolitan University have selected Talis Aspire to manage their online reading lists and copyright management. This is part of a wider library project, as they update their LMS and discovery platform from Innovative Millennium to Innovative Sierra, which will be integrated with Talis Aspire. The Talis Services and Consulting teams will be working closely with teams at LMU to get Talis Aspire set up for the start of the new academic year 2018/19.
