Learn about the past 12 months with Talis Aspire:
We are supporting over 1.3 million resource lists in Talis Aspire. That’s an average of over 10,000 lists per university.
In the last 12 months, students have visited lists more than 43 million times and made over 68 million clicks on content within their resource lists, helping them access their study materials more easily whether on campus or working from home.
Not only have they been reading, listening, and watching their course content via resource lists, they’ve been using Talis Aspire to stay organised too. 1.5 million reading intentions (such as will read, have read, etc.) have been set in the past 12 months, helping students prioritise and plan their studies, all within their resource lists.
Academics have been busy too. Over 3 million edits have been made by teaching staff in the past 12 months, ensuring students are getting up-to-date, dynamic lists, along with meaningful notes from their lecturers.
This year accessibility has been an important topic.
We’ve heard from you on webinars, at Talis Insight and on customer calls. Using your insight, as well as expertise from our user experience team we’ve continued to put accessibility at the heart of our products at Talis. Our policy is to meet, and – where possible – exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG) at Level AA, we have continued to work on this throughout 2021. Accessibility features aren’t built to be obvious, instead they enhance the experience for all users, whether they need additional software or tools, or simply just wear glasses.
You care about data and what it tells you.
In 2021 we improved the All List Items report allowing for data to be manipulated more easily within Talis Aspire rather than having to export it to an external tool.
We’ve started to send you personalised monthly metrics emails. We tell you everything from the number of lists to the number of academic edits, so that you can see how you are performing month on month. We’ve had great feedback so far. Our community continued to impress us with their uses of Talis Aspire Advanced MIS. From using it to check over 50,000 links in just a few hours, to creating predicative library learning analytics programmes, your Talis Aspire data was more useful than ever. You’ve made the most of the community.
There have been almost 500 of you joining us across the globe for webinars this past 12 months. We held two Talis Insight Webinar events in 2021, with over 400 attendees joining us for sessions from resource list data to working remotely effectively.

Our Developer Community continues to grow.
Get direct access to library system managers, data specialists, and the Talis Consulting team in a weekly drop in session. The Developer Community has this year grown the bulk tools on offer from one to around a dozen, and there is no sign of the ideas slowing down. Find out more.
We’ve welcomed new TAUG Representatives.
Both Asia-Pacific and Europe regions are joined by new representatives for the Talis Aspire community. They’ve already got stuck into supporting our event planning with Talis Insight Webinars 2021 and Talis Insight APAC 2022, ensuring we deliver useful content, even hosting their own sessions to get to know the community. In 2022 we plan to create a third set of Talis Aspire User Group representatives to support our growing North America community.
