Talis have joined with Perlego, an online e-book and e-textbook provider to give more choice and flexibility for students and libraries.
Perlego, a new ebook and etextbook subscription service, has partnered with Talis to enable unlimited access to online resources for students on over 230,000 courses.
Through this agreement, Talis will be able to enable access to titles available in Perlego’s catalogue through Talis Aspire reading lists. As universities prepare for a more blended learning experience in the next academic year, we hope this will provide an opportunity for the library and students to access a wider range of digital resources, all in one place.
Talis Aspire is used by over 100 institutions globally, including the University of Oxford, the University of Warwick and University College London (UCL), to make accessing resources easier with online reading lists.
Perlego offers students and independent learners access to over 300,000 titles from over 2,800 publishers including Pearson, Wiley, Cambridge University Press, Harvard University Press, SAGE Publishing, and Bloomsbury. Partnering with Perlego allows Talis Aspire to provide students with more choice, flexibility and ease of use when accessing the required resources for their studies.
On the partnership, David Errington, CEO from Talis, said: “In recent months it’s been made clear that university staff and students require a simple solution for accessing more resources remotely. We believe Perlego offers a unique approach that facilitates this and will directly benefit our Talis Aspire users. We are looking forward to partnering with them, in order to help students and library staff to access a breadth of online resources, in a more efficient and cost-effective way.”
Perlego CEO Gauthier Van Malderen added: “During these challenging times for education, we are working hard to ensure students are provided with the necessary resources to effectively continue their studies. Our partnership with Talis Aspire will offer students easier, direct access to the range of resources available on Perlego, and we are excited to be working alongside them to provide students with a unique and new online solution to significantly aid learning going forward.“
