30 years of the World Wide Web

To mark the 30th anniversary of the World Wide Web, the annual BBC hosted Richard Dimbleby lecture this year was given by Tim Berners-Lee, widely accredited as the principal inventor of the protocols which make up the Web while working at CERN near Geneva.

It is remarkable today how much of our lives are impacted by the web and the applications and systems that have been built on its foundations. Indeed Talis Aspire relies wholly on the web for its architecture and would be something very different if it were not for the creation of the web.

The lecture is a quick summary of the history of the web and an interesting view of its current state, followed by an intriguing set of audience questions. Enjoy.
