Sharing experience at the Talis Aspire Day this month

Alison Rooney

Last week we held one of our regular Talis Aspire Days designed to let non-Talis Aspire users learn more about the system directly from experienced customers, helping them to shape their business case, implementation, roll-out and longer-term success plans. These are small, informal events with time for everyone to contribute, ask questions and network.

This time the event was held in Central London at the Wellcome Collection and saw around 24 people get together from as far away as Scotland and the North East of England. The speakers covered everything from the changing strategic fit for Talis Aspire in the Library, Teaching & Learning and wider university strategies, recent implementation experiences and early rollout success/plans. With speakers from King’s College London, the University of the Highlands and Islands and London Metropolitan University, there was a broad cross-section of university types and Talis Aspire experience on offer.

Also, on hand were members of the Talis team with Laura Unwin, Senior Support Consultant and Dave Errington, CEO delivering short sessions outlining how Talis supports our customer’s success and providing an insight into our plans at Talis.

What did the delegates say?

Useful informative presentations, relaxed atmosphere and great location.

I really liked hearing the presentations of other peoples experience.

It was interesting hearing from institutions that have recently implemented Aspire. Lots of space for networking and discussions.

Good case studies and chance to view and share best practice.

Good talks with useful information; mix of library and Talis presentations.

As always some of the best conversations happen over the breaks and this time was no exception with afternoon tea providing the age-old jam or cream first conundrum!

Let us know if you would be interested in attending one of these events in your area, or would like me to visit and deliver a demo to you and your team. Feel free to email me at paul.dibble@talis.com. We are always looking for new opportunities for you to experience the Talis Community.
