Natalie Naik
press release Talis update

Talis has been acquired by SAGE Publishing, a leading independent, academic and professional publisher founded in 1965. SAGE Publishing will provide Talis with the opportunity to grow and expand into new markets whilst maintaining their existing relationships with customers and partners. Talis will continue to be run as a separate business by its existing management as a SAGE publishing company from its offices in Birmingham UK.

This acquisition further expands the SAGE’s Technologies for Learning and Research by offering a strong product that responds to the evolving needs of the academic librarian, as well as of faculty and students and provides resources that clearly demonstrates the value of the library within the institution.

Karen Phillips, Senior Vice President, Global Learning Resources SAGE said: “Talis is a dynamic and talented group who have proven excellence offering Software as a Service alongside specialist knowledge of the academic library market. We are tremendously excited to support the growth and development of Talis’s suite of teaching and learning solutions for Higher Education.”

“The addition of Talis and their specialist skills is a strategic shift for SAGE as we expand our offerings into software that supports learning and research. By delivering technology solutions Talis is breaking down barriers to student success, responding to the evolving needs of academic librarians, and overall improving access to resources in Higher Education.”

David Errington, CEO at Talis said: “SAGE’s clear mission to build bridges to knowledge very much resonated with our own. SAGE’s investment in Talis will enable us to continue doing what we do and to grow faster, serving more students, faculty and librarians in the global Higher Education market. We see clear synergies between our shared missions to support effective teaching and learning by providing the resources that enable good student outcomes in a digital age.”
