Leeds Trinity University selects Talis Aspire to provide a seamless student experience with reading lists
Leeds Trinity University have selected Talis Aspire to manage and deliver its online reading lists service and copyright management.
With Talis Aspire, Leeds Trinity University Library aims to standardise their approach to reading lists. In achieving this they will provide an improved student experience and better access to resources. They will also streamline library workflows, with better capability to manage library acquisitions and improved reporting functionality.
Nick Goodfellow, Director of Library & Learning Resources at Leeds Trinity University said that “Leeds Trinity University was looking to implement a resource list management system, as a means of making the student reading experience more seamless and engaging, and our management of resource acquisition workflows more streamlined. Having gone through a tender process, we were impressed by Talis’s clear commitment to developing and enhancing their solution, with new initiatives such as the Talis Player, by evidence of ease of integration with our Moodle VLE, and by the sophisticated analytics functionality that will enable academic staff to determine which resources their students are engaging with.”
Leeds Trinity University plan to integrate reading lists with their Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Moodle through the Talis Aspire Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) tool.
Talis Aspire will also be integrated with Leeds Trinity University’s Library Management System INFOR V-Smart and their Discovery Tool, EBSCO. This will provide a seamless way to add resources to reading lists, and provide direct links to these resources for their students, including real-time library holding information and single sign-on access where relevant.
