We spoke to Heather Whitehouse, the Director of Information Resources and Caroline Long, Information Resources Specialist, at Aston University about their implementation of Talis Aspire.
Aston University became a Talis customer in May 2017, having previously used Rebus:list for their online reading list management. They migrated their data over and are currently planning to set up section level embedding in their VLE, Blackboard, with the Talis LTI integration.
In the video, Heather told us that her challenges for the library are around optimising electronic resources and ensuring the best experience for students in an increasingly digital environment. She explains why they chose Talis, and how, as a library they feel Talis will help them meet the needs of students, not only on campus, but for their ever growing remote-learning community.
Both Caroline and Heather note the time saving benefits for academics and for the library team and have been pleased with the support they have received from the Talis team, before and after they became a customer. The Talis Services and Consulting Teams were able to complete their implementation at a very short time scale, so that the Aston University team could be ready for a new academic year.
