Discover content from the Talis Aspire Day with the University of Birmingham

On the 14th June, we teamed up with University of Birmingham to co-host a Talis Aspire day. It was a great opportunity to hear from the library team and academics from customer institutions, to find out what they have achieved with Talis Aspire.

Ann-Marie James, Academic Support Team Manager at the University of Birmingham talked us through their implementation. Ann-Marie was the Talis Aspire Project Manager during this phase and worked closely with both teams at the University of Birmingham and the Services Team at Talis. In her session, she discussed the smooth implementation phase and the integrations that they had set-up.

Matt Turner, Technology Enhanced Learning Partnership and Development Manager at the University of Birmingham went on to explore the integration with their Virtual Learning Environment, Canvas, in his part of the session. He discussed the importance of this integration and how it is being used.

Both Matt and Ann-Marie discussed academic engagement, how they approached it and the challenges they faced, although they have seen success in this area, they are keen to keep driving this forward.

Helen Rimmer, Head of Academic Liaison, Royal Holloway, University of London discussed academic and student buy-in in her session, exploring how they raised the profile of online reading lists with awards, emails and social media.

Neil Donohue, Learning & Teaching Services Manager from the University of Leicester, managed the roll out of Talis Aspire. He joined us to discuss implementation, how they overcame challenges and how it enabled them to re-think and streamline library workflows, particularly with the added impact of Talis Aspire Digitised Content.
