Talis update

Recently, at the inaugural Silicon Canal Tech Awards, Talis were delighted to win the award for Large Company of the Year, nominated alongside Advanced* and InMoment.

We asked the judges why we won and they told us that “Talis was a company within the shortlist that truly indicated their journey in becoming a large company within the tech industry, whilst also detailing the impact they have had on the industry as a business”. The judging panel included Tracy Westall, Executive Director at Silicon Canal and Cliff Dennett, Head of Business Development at Innovation Birmingham.

Chris Clarke, CTO at Talis said, “We are humbled both to be nominated by our peers and subsequently be chosen by the judges for this award. We’ve worked hard over the last few years to build up our team, the engineering element of which is predominantly based here in Birmingham, and are proud of our employee-owned culture. We’ll continue to give back to the ecosystem that has served us so well by providing space and support for local meetups, as well as through our Codelicious micro-conference, which returns in February 2017.”

Most of the Talis Engineering (@taliseng) team were at the awards at Boxxed in Digbeth and we had a great night meeting other local tech companies and individuals pushing the industry forward in Birmingham.

We also sponsored the award for Graduate Developer of the Year. We are excited to see the growth of upcoming talent in the region. We also run our own graduate programme to support the development of new talent in West Midlands. This year the winning graduate was David Nestoruk from JustSayPlease – we look forward to following his future achievements.
