Reading List of the Week – Pre reading for semester 1 modules, University of Stirling

Our Reading List of the Week is Pre reading for semester 1 modules from the University of Stirling.

This list was created for new students at the University of Stirling. It is divided up into sections, the first is labelled ‘Study Guides’ and contained important resources for new students on writing essays, some of which are especially for particular subject areas.

This is a great way of providing key resources to students that they will need right from the beginning of their course, as well as giving them a look into Reading Lists so that they are familiar with the interface by the time they are presented with key reading tasks. This is also a great way of introducing them to the library catalogue and to using online items.

The other sections in the list are dedicated to particular subjects, such as accounting or education. A useful thing about this list is that all modules have been included, whether there are texts or not, using a description within the section to make it clear whether items are available for pre-reading or not.
