How the library at the University of Leicester uses Google Analytics

We held a webinar earlier this year to hear how our customers were using Google Analytics data and how it has helped drive academic engagement. Since then, many customers have wanted to find out more and share their practice. Find out what we learnt over three talks with the University of Leicester.

Joanne Dunham, Head of Collections & Information Systems at the University of Leicester and Nicola Ward, Senior Assistant Librarian at Manchester Metropolitan University joined us along with Talis Services Consultant Laura Unwin for a webinar to discuss how libraries are using Google Analytics. Every Talis Aspire Reading List tenancy has Google Analytics enabled. This tracks the usage and traffic of your tenancy. During the webinar Joanne and Nicola shared their experiences of using Google Analytics and the ways in which they were using the data to improve the usage of Reading Lists. Following this webinar, there was a real interest in how this data could be used across the library, so it was a great opportunity for Joanne Dunham, along with Neil Donohue, Learning & Teaching Services Manager at the University of Leicester to join us at Talis Insight Europe 2016, to deliver a presentation on their use of Google Analytics. During their talk they shared how they were using this data to enable discussions about collections policies and module resources. You can watch the presentation below:
