Reading List of the Week – University of Essex, Think Seminar: Closing the Borders? Migration in Britain

Our Reading List of the Week is Think Seminar: Closing the Borders? Migration in Britain from the University of Essex. This list was created to provide content and information around a debate as part of the ‘THINK series’ from the University of Essex.

The University of Essex host these debates on often controversial subjects to encourage students to be “critical, innovative and forward-thinking”. Find out more about the THINK series here.

The list is broken down into topics, such as ‘The legal context’ and ‘Asylum, refuge and “economic migration”’. Many of the items on the list are books, with some documents and webpages featuring, particularly in the ‘Newspapers and journals’ section, which provides topical items from recent studies or reports.

Creating a reading list is a great way to provide information for students to do research prior to the debate on complex topics. Delivering this information in a format that students are used to makes this even more accessible.
