Learning about Integrations at Talis Insight Europe 2016

Natalie Naik

One of our tracks at Talis Insight Europe 2016 was dedicated to the more technical elements of our Talis Aspire products. We heard from our technical consultants, as well as LTI specialist Stephen Vickers and from Ann-Marie James from the University of Birmingham on her experience of Talis Integrations.

Stephen Vickers from IMS Global, an organisation that looks at educational standards across all aspects of technical activity across universities, kicked off presentations in this track on Day One. He spoke about ‘Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) – Why the big deal?’, explaining what LTI is, how you are able to do it and the benefits of integration.

The presentation, ‘Putting Reading Lists at the heart of the student learning experience at the University of Birmingham’ is about how they were able to integrate Reading Lists with their VLE, Canvas. Ann-Marie discussed what they did, how and what they learnt from the process.
