Vanessa is the Manager for Copyright and Information Policy at Universities Australia. For 17 years Vanessa has worked in copyright fields and since 2002 has specialised in copyright in the education field. Working in both the VET and Higher Education sectors she has worked with hundreds of educators and their managers to understand, deal with, and manage copyright in their organisations. As part of this role she also developed and maintained the well regarded online resource the Copyright Kitchen.
Vanessa will be joining us at Talis Insight Asia-Pacific 2016 on Friday 5th February at Monash University to give us a talk on Copyright and Compliance. She will be sharing a short exploration of the requirements, interpretations and ‘nice to haves’ when managing copyright licences in universities. She will also talk through a quick overview of the statutory licences and their requirements followed by open discussion on management practices and processes that support the licences. After Vanessa’s talk you can also hear from Melanie Johnson on libraries and the CLL license.
