Colin Bates, Director of Collections and Global Access at Deakin University Library will be joining us at Day Two of Talis Insight Asia-Pacific 2016. The event will be taking place in Melbourne, Australia on the 4th and 5th of February 2016. Colin will be discussing their move to Talis and how this has helped to manage information resources in a cloud learning environment.
In recent years at Deakin University, the practice of learning and teaching has strategically moved to embrace technologies, systems and pedagogies that allow students to take an anytime and anywhere online approach to their learning. Regardless of enrolment or location, students use the same range of university learning environments, systems, and information resources.
For the Library, this context means extensive provision, promotion, and delivery of information resources online, and into varied university learning environments and systems. Building on the Library’s extensive provision of online services and resources, the Talis Reading Lists, and Digitised Content modules are providing an important part of the library approach to delivering contextualised information resources to students.
