Press Release: University of Stirling Selects Talis Aspire
Talis announces today that the University of Stirling has become the latest university to select the Talis Aspire reading-list management service – as it seeks to improve the learning experience for its students.
‘The University has chosen to upgrade to Talis Aspire for its modern interface and ease of use, with the confidence of glowing reports from other university Libraries.’
With the selection of Talis Aspire, students at the university will get access to curated learning resources across multiple platforms, content types and providers, while the library is provided with workflow tools to support development of its learning technology services.
Mark Toole, Director of Information Services at the university, said:
‘The reading-list service is a key component of the University of Stirling’s learning environment. Students appreciate their reading-lists conveniently located alongside other learning materials and module information in the Virtual Learning Environment, with seamless access to the Library catalogue or the online version of the resource itself.’
He also added that:
‘From a Library perspective new features will enable us to speed up the processing of reading-lists, particularly the vital activity of ensuring that the Library can meet its commitment to provide access to all items on every reading-list. All in all this will help us meet our students’ aspirations for scaling up the reading-list service to cover virtually every module taught at the University.’
The University of Stirling is one of 46 universities in the United Kingdom and Australia to have selected the Talis Aspire reading-list management service since it launched in 2009. The service will integrate with the Blackboard 9.0 Learning Management System and the Innovative Interface WebBridge LR.
