press release

As part of its Strategy to ‘Enhance the Student Experience’,  Oxford Brookes University has chosen Talis Aspire to ‘revolutionise’ the way it handles reading- lists. Once implemented the university will be giving students powerful options for accessing essential reading-list items and interacting with their lecturers, the library and the campus bookstore.

The partnership will also enable the university library to streamline book and journal recommendation and acquisitions processes, automate and manage student reading-lists, and provide an enhanced library service.

Jan Haines, Head of Library Services at Oxford Brookes University, said:

‘As part of its Strategy to Enhance the Student Experience, Brookes is currently replacing its VLE with Moodle and this presents an ideal opportunity for us to review, enhance and ultimately revolutionise the way we handle reading and resource lists across the institution.’

She also pointed to Talis Aspire’s integration with existing, and new, university systems as a major factor in the university’s decision:

‘We were impressed by how Talis Aspire can be fully integrated into Moodle as well as working seamlessly with our Capita LMS and Prism3 catalogue which made it an obvious choice to meet our needs.’

Dave Errington, CEO of Talis Education Ltd, commented:  ‘We are delighted to welcome Oxford Brookes University to the growing Talis Aspire community. University libraries are increasingly built around digital resources and their delivery across many complex systems. This means that they share a common need for the most scalable, advanced and integrated reading-list management systems available – a need that Talis Aspire meets for universities and colleges in the UK and beyond.’

He added that:  ‘We are proud to be able to deliver a safe, secure, dependable solution to Oxford Brookes University – and to be helping them to deliver a better student experience to their learners.’
